Si la réalité du libre arbitre est d’un bout à l’autre de son œuvre constamment affirmée dans la philosophie de Descartes, on serait en peine d’y trouver la mention du Destin. La philosophie de Descartes rejette même l’idée de destin sous toutes ses formes, y compris comme Raison universelle. Mais en soutenant aussi la thèse de la libre et absolue volonté de Dieu qui a imposé des lois à la nature et a préordonné toutes choses, Descartes n’a-t-il pas réintroduit et même renforcé l’idée de destin ?
